About the speaker:

Bryce has over 30 years of dealing with drug related issues both in our communities and workplaces.  Having spent 16 years in the Police and the last 7 of those as a drug squad detective he dealt closely with people that lives were impacted by drugs or picking up the pieces as a result.  After the Police he joined forces with The Drug Detection Agency (TDDA) and has been the Managing Director overseeing the running of the business in NSW and ACT.  He is also part of the executive that manages the business across the rest of the Country and NZ.  He is recognised as a subject matter expert and has been involved in the last 2 Fairwork hearings to determine whether oral fluid or urine can be used on the various work sites.

Bryce brings a wealth of experience in managing workplace drug and alcohol testing into the workplace and has been part of many consultative groups discussing the implementation of Drug and Alcohol Management Plan (DAMP) programs, assisting in drafting/preparing drug & alcohol policies and rolling out the policies to ensure they are fit for that companies purposes, to ensure this crucial element is applied for all industries across the board.  He currently manages the relationship between TDDA and Qantas as an example of an aviation DAMP.

Recently Bryce was tasked by the greater TDDA group to put together various workshops around Australia to discuss the effects of the introduction of medicinal cannabis into the workplace, this under the new guidelines introduced by the TGA.  This involved creating a presentation titled “Medicinal Cannabis and the Safety Sensitive Worker”.  This was presented to a number of TDDA clients across Australasia.
