Network Meeting – Property Risk in the Insurance Sector and the Relationship with HSE Audits and Inspections

Event Details

PRESENTATION

Steve Gibbons, Principal – Head of Development, Property Risk Solutions, Marsh Advisory Pacific

Topic:        Property Risk in the Insurance Sector and the Relationship with HSE Audits and Inspections

In this presentation, Steve will provide an introduction to the concept of Property Risk from an insurance perspective, and the scope of the major deliverables. The key messages from this session relate to the overlap of

our work with that of our colleagues in the EHS/HSE/SHE space, both within organisations and through external consultancy services. You may not realise how much of your own products provide an insight to the property risks at a location or within a business; there are mutual benefits to a closer understanding of how we can assist each other through increased awareness and observation of site practices, record keeping, and the various plant and equipment on location. Some might say Steve is trying to make you all property risk consultants, but I will leave you to make your own determination on this!

High level content:

  • What do we mean by Property Risk and just who are we
  • Why is it important, both for insurance purposes and more general risk management
  • What is the scope of property risk work, plus the different types of deliverables that are typically being sought
  • The overlap with HSE
  • What is the process (hint: not rocket science, you will surely recognise the approach)
  • What are the common gaps we find, and risk recommendations we make to our clients
  • Hot topics in property risk and asset protection
  • How we can help you to enhance your life safety work with asset protection observations
  • How you can help property risk engineers better recognise life safety
